Hopefully looking through our website will give you a little taste of what to expect when you come to stay in north Norfolk and a glimmer of what makes No2 the perfect place for a family holiday or romantic getaway.

At a Glance

No2 was recently renovated and completely redecorated and modernised throughout only last summer. Under the watchful eye of a real interiors enthusiast, attention to detail really is our thing; our guests have all been blown away by the gorgeous furnishing. Our downstairs living is open plan and really quite beautiful. With a stunning living area, Joules sofas, designer dining table and thoughtfully finished galley kitchen, we've included a rustic oak island and bi-folding doors that open out on to the patio for those relaxing, coastal vibes throughout.

Upstairs you can enjoy the peaceful, rural views across the fields from the master king bedroom; a large bathroom with free standing roll top bath and separate shower is across the landing; and a pretty twin bedroom is next door.

Coastal-chic decor, designer textiles, stunning artwork and hand-selected coffee table books are all part of the No2 experience!

OUR SERVICES

The Need-to-Know Bits

Entertainment

No2 comes ready with complimentary Wi-Fi, a wide selection of board games, kids books & toys and an internet ready TV, with pre-installed apps such as Netflix, Now TV and BT Sport. A Bose sound system and portable, waterproof Bose WiFi speaker are also available for guests to use. A gorgeous selection of coffee table books and bestseller paperbacks are available for you to borrow; please feel free to leave any of your own books behind to add to the collection!

Our Requests

No2 is a pet-free and non-smoking house; we do not accept any animals and we class ourselves as being allergy-friendly. This must be strictly adhered to as our children have severe dog allergies.

Unfortunately we do not accept stag or hen parties; no parties or events are to be hosted at the house without prior approval by the owners.

We like our neighbours and would like to remain on good terms with them; thoughtful behaviour towards the local residents on the terrace is expected and appreciated.

Please do not park on on the verges outside other properties or block neighbours' access with the bins.

Outdoor Space

We have a delightful and private south-facing enclosed garden to the rear, complete with play equipment for the children, two outdoor seating areas and a BBQ. Our garden sofa & table are tucked into the sunniest corner of the patio where the sun can shine well into the evening!

The rear of the garden also looks out onto an open field with spectacular evening sunset views that shouldn't be missed.

At the front of the house there is off-road parking for 2 cars (at a push!).

Bathrooms

So important to get right!

No2 has a a large & gorgeous upstairs bathroom, with free standing, roll-top bath and a separate shower cubicle with good water pressure and hand-baked artisan tiles.

A bath tray is there for indulgent bathing with a glass of fizz in hand!

A separate cloakroom with WC is located downstairs.

Kitchen

The kitchen at No2 is fully equipped with absolutely everything you need (and more!) to enjoy your stay, including: a brand new Smeg oven and grill, a HUGE integrated fridge freezer, microwave, new Samsung washing machine, dishwasher, waffle maker, Kitchen Aid Mixer, Nespresso and even an ice cream maker! We have tried to think of everything you may need; there's even a cupboard of essentials (tea bags, salt & pepper, baking essentials etc) and even the unglamorous necessities, like dishwasher tablets and washing machine capsules. Please take what you need and replace what you can; we can all do our bit to help the planet and live responsibly.

Nearby

No2 is located just outside of the beautiful village of Ringstead; we are less than a 10 minute drive to the north Norfolk coast.

The nearest pub is a 15 minute walk away in Sedgeford; a 45 minute stroll through the meadows to the delightful The Gin Trap is also recommended.

Our local shop that supplies the No2 welcome hamper, The General Stores in Ringstead, is nothing short of wonderful; the Thornham Deli is a popular brunch location and Drove Orchards is the perfect stop off for a shop of shopping, delicious gelato, Gurney's fishmonger and Eric's famous Fish & Chips. You can see why we bought a house here!

Less exciting, but just as important: there's a Lidl in Heacham and a Tesco in Hunstanton for bigger grocery shops.

THINGS TO DO

Beaches

Guest reviews all tell us how well-placed we are to explore the amazing beaches in north Norfolk.  The beaches at Old Hunstanton, Holme-next-the-Sea, and Thornham are less than 10 minutes away; Brancaster, Titchwell, Wells-Next-The-Sea and beyond are just a short drive too.

Just along the coastal road is the expansive Holkham Bay, often referred to as the best beach in England ; it was used for the final scenes of the film "Shakespeare in Love".

Much of Holkham is within a coastal nature reserve and, as well as sand and pines, the area also contains marshes, salt flats and narrow creeks.

You'll find your own special places but, if you need a starting point, the NWT reserve at Holme Dunes is pretty special.

Walking, Cycling & Golf

No2 is located on The Peddars Way, on its way to join the Coastal Path, so there is some amazing walking to be done here and on the Ringstead Downs. You can literally step out of the front door and take a left or a right; the possibilities are endless.

The cottage is also on the National Cycle Network and is part of the Norfolk Coast Cycleway.

Norfolk has the sunniest and driest climate in the country with some of the best summer temperatures, which makes north Norfolk one of the leading places in the UK to play golf. Both the Hunstanton Golf Club and The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club are less than a 10 minute drive from No2 and both courses are rated as one of Britain and Ireland’s Top 100 courses

Local Pubs & Grub

No2 is within walking distance from two excellent pubs: the renowned Gin Trap Inn - with good food, a great selection of beers, wines and a fantastic play area for the children to the rear - and also The King William IV, Country Inn & Restaurant, in Sedgeford.  The Jolly Sailors in Brancaster Staithe is a great pub to visit with the kids; The Rose & Crown in Snettisham is wildly popular too.

If you fancy a tasty brunch, The Thornham Deli normally wins the vote; The Old Stores, recently opened in Snettisham, is also worth a visit. We also like to get seedy flapjacks and great coffee from the local shop in Brancaster where there's a carpark, tennis courts (need booking) and a great kids' playground.

The tasty Gelato at Mim's (Drove Orchards) is also worth a trip; you can pick up groceries from the farm shop there too.

Local Attractions

A short drive away is HM The Queen’s Sandringham Estate, where you can explore the house or walk in the parkland and woods; it also has a fantastic play area for children.

Along the coastal road lies the Holkham estate, a beautiful place, rich in wildlife, history and heritage,  and also with lots of things to do for all ages. With a stately home at it's centre, Holkham encompasses a National Nature Reserve, a beach, a walled garden, and acres upon acres of parkland that is roamed by it's resident fallow deer. Children will enjoy the Woodland Adventure Play Area and high ropes course; there's cycle and boat hire available most of the year.

Bird Watching

Norfolk is often described at the birdwatching capital of Britain. With rare visiting birds and a wealth of nature reserves, North Norfolk is ideal for birdwatching all year round.

No2 is perfectly situated to take advantage of the local nature reserves.  Holme Dunes and the RSPB Titchwell Marsh are less than 10 minutes away and have good birding all year round. In Spring you will see migrating waders such as ruffs in breeding plumage, black-tailed godwits and spotted redshanks. Watch marsh harriers perform their amazing ‘sky-dancing’ and listen out for a booming bittern. Watch out for dragonflies and damselflies in summer as well as water voles along the meadow trail. Catch curlew sandpipers and little stint in autumn and roosting birds of prey, rafts of wildfowl and skeins of pink footed geese in winter.

No2 is a twitcher's paradise and each morning you'll hear the beautiful chorus of our local birds at sunrise and the owls hooting at night. Divine!

Things To Do With The Kids

We have small children and rarely find ourselves twiddling our thumbs on weekends spent in north Norfolk.

On rainy days, you can visit Farmer Fred's Adventure Pay Barn at Norfolk Lavender (less than 5 minutes away); the theme park Bewilderwood is about an hour away, but well worth a visit.

The Farm Park at Snettisham is a lovely day out; we often find ourselves bowling in Hunstanton and visiting the amusement arcades after much pleading from the small people!

The adventure playgrounds at Holkham and Sandringham really are superb and, aside from the parking fee, these are totally free to enjoy.
